Weekend Woes.

I tend to feel homesick the most on the weekends. I think it's a combination of having actual free time to think and remembering what I would be doing if I were home. On Saturdays I would've slept in (shocking) or more likely woken up early to run errands with Marme. Our first stop would be Dunkin Donuts and then depending on the season we would do a few of the following: Go yard saling/ thrift store shopping. Go to Jo Ann's fabrics, Safeway, to school to water the plants, feed the animals etc. The point of the story is I miss those things. Here my weekends are all I have due to my extreme hatred of my job. So I try to do as many as these things as I still can. But it's not the same. There is no Dunkin, this Jo Ann's is dirty and I don't have a built in errands buddy like my Mom here.

Today I had an idea to put fabric around the matting of an Ikea picture frame. Sarah got me this awesome postertext.com poster of Pride and Prejudice. Its actually the first 25 chapters of the book with the image of Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth in the middle. With the extra fabric I had I decided to try and make headbands. Here's the thing... I can't sew. My attempt at sewing including me stabbing myself over and over and over. Luckily that's the part of the headband no one can see. Once the skin grows back on my finger tips I think I'll try to make a couple more.

I found a plethora of Catholic schools around. I bought a printer today (Thanks Mom!) so I can print out my resume and reference letters and start making packets to hand out to all the schools. I'm hoping that I can find a school for next year, and maybe a nanny job for the summer. Which would make me very happy. Love you Dad and Grandad. My loyal two readers.

Sea World.

Hiya GDAD!

I'm sure Stace will have more pics for you. But I wanted to show you these. Just a few quick moments from our trip to Sea World.

And you can never have enough pictures of this little guy...

East Coast Love.

It's always nice to have a little bit of home. On Thursday Aunt Suzy came into town and we celebrated St. Patrick's Day at a little pizza place in Pasadena. Along with Pinot. Friday I was able to show her the town... of Glendale. And Saturday we headed to the LA Zoo. Which was actually a great trip. The zoo isn't huge which makes it feel manageable. We saw pretty much everything you could think of. The skies were overcast but the animals didn't seem to mind.

Saturday night Karla got into town. Her flight was delayed. And delayed. And delayed. Until it finally got here around 1 am. Did I mention she was only coming from San Fran? This is what happens when it rains in California. We just hung out and went to the movies on Sunday, but up'd the sight seeing on Monday when I took her to Hollywood and Highland to check out the Walk of Fame and the Chinese Theater. The we went to the Observatory and got a great view of Los Angeles. It was clear enough to see the water. I dropped her at the airport this morning and then headed to work.

It was great to have some Jersey/Maryland time.
