The Finished Product

This awesome table and chairs were left in the classroom. I loved them! I sanded and painted them and look how awesome they look now!
Before.
 After.

So here are the final pictures of my room. I will be constantly changing it I'm sure but I'm really happy with how it looks now.
Mary and Father McWood (Who Nathan made and Mom and I use to teach the kids what color vestments the priest should be wearing.)

The weird brown thing on the shelf is the hat I made for Harry Potter, and also the owl puppet is Hedwig from Harry Potter. We'll read that later in the year.

This is my "Morning Meeting" board. I'll add onto it as the year goes on.

Fish!

This is my seasonal tree. I took it from the apartment. The lights will change with the seasons.

My desk!

I drew this octopus. It is our "jobs" board. Each leg has a different job written on it.

This is our "cloakroom" where they put their backpacks and such. These are the doors shut...

and open.

Mom knit these bunting flags for me. But I did sew them on the ribbon. I love them. I'm making more now, but I knit much slower them Mom.

A little music and math corner.

This is our science center. Filled with East Coast nature all found by Uncle Mike.

I love my job***

And I don't think too many people get to say that in life. I only have 9 children in my class. And instead of looking at that as low enrollment I choose to pretend that I work for a very elite charter school. I have lots and lots of pictures to post. So please enjoy.

Let's start with some before pictures.

White walls? This simply will not do.
Let's move on to my inspiration for the theme and color of the room.

I knew that I wanted a beach theme. But I wasn't really sure what to do until Mom and I took our trip to NJ. I love all the details on the North End.

The sea foam green that everything is painted here is perfect. So that's what color I decided to paint my walls. It reminds me of summer and the beach and fun.

This is my favorite. Later you will see Stacey paint this on my desk.

I painted the walls myself. It took a very long time. Stacey kept receiving frantic text messages from me complaining that there was no way I would get it all finished and I needed help. The next day she drove up and helped me finish. She added all these little details for me.

Except I do want to go home...

I just really love this song.

Sometimes I really love L.A

And Saturday was one of those days. After we set the pool up, mixed some cocktails in our crab cups, and got our sun bathing on we realized we were hungry. Must we reallllly get out of this pool to get food? Nope. Not in LA. The awesome man from the delish taco place around the corner rode his bike to us and we were good to go. We didn't even get out of the pool to eat.

Sushi with Ashley D.

Other then Sarah, Ashley is who I spend the majority of my time with. She is so much fun. Such a Waldorf girl.

Please note I was dressed to be patriotic. God Bless America.

Happy 4th.

Hi Dad and Grandad, Happy 4th. This weekend started with an excellent idea of purchasing a pool for outside of the apartment building. It kind of painted the picture of how the rest of the weekend would be spent.
These are the things we got at Target. Please note the two sippy cups I found that have the Maryland blue crab on them. Thankyouverymuch.

So starting Saturday around 11 am until last night this is right about where I was. Don't worry. I put SPF 50 on my body and 90 on my face. The same can not be said for Sarah who is sporting some lobster legs right now.

The kiddies of the building are enjoying the new pool as well. A bunch of the neighbors got together and had a cook out last night. It was fun and felt very "4th of July-ish".

I have 3 weeks left of working. Summer school and the other job which shall not be named. Then I'll be heading to see you guys and I am just a little excited. This time last year I was watching fireworks with Steph and Devon and making smores over the fire pit. Only to wake up early July 5th and start my drive across the country. I can't believe it's been a year.

Because you probably miss my face...

So there it is. Still the same.

Fancy Hats and Beer.

Sarah and I got really into the Royal Wedding. And we felt a little left out of their celebrations, so we decided to have our own. We sat on our porch and drank "porch beers". This literally means drinking beers on the porch. We decided (after already having...a few... ) that we should toast the happy couple every time a car drives by. We live on a rather busy street.

We wanted to be British. So we got dressed up. Apparently this is what my semi-altered drunk mind thinks being British looks like....
